Gluten Free Beer Bratwurst!!

my custom gluten free beer bratwurst. i am very proud of how my hogs are raised, you can read about them on my hog page. this page is about making a special sausage, my custom gluten free beer bratwurst. while i am not sensitive to gluten. my partner is a celiac, and i am sensitve the problems that come with being a celiac. my favorite brat, is the beer brat. i know i would sure miss having a few of these on the grill over the 4th of july if i developed a sensitivity to gluten. so i am doing my part to make these great beer brats available to those with a gluten sensitivity. for those of you that are not sensitive, you may be wondering why a beer brat would be a problem. well it is the beer. beer uses fermented grain and weather it is wheat oats barley or rye, they all have gluten, and that will quickly ruin a celiacs day. doing a little research on the  net i found a handful of gluten free beers. most are imported and not exactly cheep. the one i decided on is Bards beer. made in america from sorgum. now i am not a beer drinker, so i had no idea if this beer tasted any good. i grabbed a six pack and had some beer buddies tell me what they thought. surprisingly for a gluten free product, everyone was pleased with the beer. one of my beer buddies is a long time home brewer and he was quite impressed. this time around the brats are nice and lean. we cooked some up the day they were ground, and they were a big hit with the crew at the chop shop. i will be trying out some gluten free buns next week since in my opinion a beer brat needs to be on a toasted bun. the buns i found are from outside the bread box in colorado springs. we have tried many of their other gluten free products and found them to be pretty good. i will be at the colorado farm and art market in colorado springs on saturdays and the woodland park farmers market on fridays for the remainder of the season.  I have decided not to do any shipping, i am focusing on local. shipping cross country is not a green thing, and i will avoid the excessive burning of fossile fuels. if you would like to get some but can not make one of the markets or it is after the market season is over  email me and we can work something out for pick up.  2 tank minimum at gmail dot com. spell it all no numerals.
